Iain Baxter& is a Canadian conceptual artist who employs photography, found objects, and installation to interrogate the distinction between art and everyday material culture. Since the 1960s, his practice has turned on irony and institutional critique, examining how meaning circulates within visual systems. In 1974, he adopted the ampersand as his signature, embedding a linguistic intervention into his own artistic identity. His work positions appropriation and readymade strategies as sustained methodological tools rather than gestures.
