Printmaking
Iain Baxter& is a Canadian conceptual artist and pioneer of appropriation art whose practice interrogates the boundaries between art and everyday material culture. Working primarily with photography, found objects, and installation since the 1960s, he has consistently employed irony and institutional critique to question how meaning is produced and circulated in visual culture. His ampersand signature, adopted in 1974, marks a deliberate linguistic intervention into his own identity as a maker.
