For people who make culture

A place on the record.

WattsOS is the canonical record of visual culture. If your work has been part of it — as an artist, designer, architect, or any other maker — there's a place for it here.

Already on the record

Find your profile.

Search for your name. If WattsOS has indexed your work through a gallery, museum, archive, or publication, you can claim and edit your profile.

How verification works

Editorial review, not algorithmic.

01
Submit
Provide evidence of where your work has been publicly shown, published, or reviewed. The more specific the references, the faster the review.
02
Verify
The editorial team checks each submission against primary sources. Gallery websites, publication archives, institutional records.
03
Decide
Three possible outcomes: approval, a request for more information, or a decline with specific feedback. Every response is written by a human.
04
Index
Approved records enter the canonical database with full source provenance. Verified makers can then claim and edit their profile.
What qualifies as public evidence

Work that has been seen beyond your own network.

WattsOS indexes the people who make visual culture — artists, designers, architects, photographers, fashion designers, and other practitioners — whose work has reached an audience beyond their personal following. The form of that audience can vary — what matters is that it's documented and verifiable.

01
Exhibitions at galleries, museums, artist-run spaces, fairs, or festivals
02
Publications, reviews, or critical writing covering the work
03
Catalogs, monographs, or printed editions
04
Collection placements (institutional or significant private)
05
Public commissions or permanent installations
06
Press coverage or features in third-party publications
07
Curated platform contexts where editorial selection has been applied

If you're unsure whether your work qualifies, submit a request and let us review. We respond to every submission with specifics.

After you're indexed

Control your own record.

Edit your profile
Verified practitioners can update biography, website, representation, and exhibition history. Every edit is source-tracked.
Add primary sources
Submit press, reviews, exhibition documentation, and other source material. Editorial review applies the same trust scoring as institutional ingestion.
Maintain the record
Update representation when galleries change, add new exhibitions as they happen, correct any historical inaccuracies. Your record stays accurate because you keep it that way.

Verified practitioners do not control the canonical truth of their record. Edits are sourced and reviewed. Disputed facts surface in provenance.
