Oxygen House Project (Elevation)

Douglas Darden was an American architect and experimental designer whose practice bridged drawing, installation, and speculative building. Active from the 1970s through the mid-1990s, he developed a distinctive approach that treated architectural representation as a generative medium in itself, layering hand-drawn plans, sections, and perspectival notations into immersive spatial experiences. His work investigated the gap between architectural intention and material realization through collage, assemblage, and large-scale drawings that functioned as both documents and autonomous artworks.
