Jan Sawka was a Polish painter, sculptor, and printmaker whose expressionist figuration merged fine art with graphic design sensibilities. Working across painting, relief sculpture, and large-scale public commissions, he developed a visual language that bridged Eastern European modernism and Western commercial culture, reflecting Cold War geopolitical tensions. Active across multiple continents, Sawka's practice refused conventional boundaries between fine and applied art.
