Heitor dos Prazeres was a Brazilian painter whose figurative works depicted urban and rural scenes of daily life with an emphasis on narrative and social observation. Active in the postwar period, he developed a distinctive approach to representing popular culture and the social fabric of Brazilian communities. His practice centered on the direct observation of ordinary subjects rendered with attention to human gesture and domestic detail.
