Getulio Alviani was an Italian kinetic and op art artist whose works explored the optical and tactile properties of aluminum and steel through precisely engineered surface treatments. Working from the 1960s onward, he created wall-based and freestanding sculptures whose modulated, wave-like reliefs generated shifting visual effects as light and the viewer's position changed. His practice engaged the materiality of industrial surfaces as a means to activate perception itself, moving beyond pure geometric abstraction into a sensory engagement with space and reflection.
