Gaetano Gandolfi was an Italian painter, draughtsman, and sculptor of the late Baroque period active in Bologna. His technical facility and compositional clarity placed him among the leading artists of his generation, alongside his older brother Ubaldo, establishing Bologna as a continuing center of artistic authority in the late eighteenth century.
