Francis Bedford was a British photographer and printmaker active during the mid-nineteenth century. Working in albumen print and salt print processes, he documented architectural and landscape subjects across Britain and the Middle East with precision and compositional clarity. Bedford's travels, particularly to Egypt and the Levant, produced extensive topographic series that remain significant records of mid-Victorian visual culture. His practice bridged early photography and traditional printmaking aesthetics.
