Priscilla Huggable Atomic Mushroom, from the Designs for Fragile Personalities in Anxious Times Project

Dunne and Raby’s work is designed to probe and question our relationship with objects. The Huggable Mushroom, developed with Michael Anastassiades, is part of the collection Design for Fragile Personalities in Anxious Times. The soft, toylike object allows users to confront (and cuddle) their fear of nuclear annihilation directly.

Artist

Dunne & Raby is a British design duo working at the intersection of speculative design, critical making, and material culture. Their practice engages with near-future scenarios through objects, installations, and narratives that interrogate technology, consumption, and social structures. Rather than proposing solutions, their work functions as a provocation, using carefully crafted artifacts and environments to prompt dialogue about the systems that shape contemporary life.
