Alexander Girard was an American designer and architect whose postwar practice encompassed textiles, furniture, interior design, and graphic work characterized by bold geometric patterns and a vivid, internationalist color palette. Working across multiple disciplines, he developed a distinctive visual language that synthesized modernist principles with folk art influences and decorative abundance.
