Anna Gaskell is an American photographer and video artist known for meticulously staged tableaux that reinterpret fairy tales, literary narratives, and domestic scenarios through a contemporary lens. Working primarily in large-format color photography and video installation, she constructs elaborate sets populated by performers to create psychologically charged environments that destabilize familiar narratives. Her practice interrogates childhood, identity, and the constructed nature of photographic representation itself.
