Yoshio Taniguchi was a Japanese architect whose buildings combined modernist discipline with a restrained, almost meditative approach to form and material. Working primarily in concrete, glass, and natural stone, he designed institutional and cultural spaces that privileged clarity of structure and a careful relationship between interior and landscape. His practice, which spanned the second half of the twentieth century, positioned him as a key figure in postwar Japanese modernism.
