Alexei Gutnov was a Russian architect and urban planner whose theoretical work centered on experimental housing and modular systems for post-Soviet urban development. Active from the 1960s through the 1980s, he developed proposals for flexible, prefabricated residential units that engaged with the constraints and utopian ambitions of Soviet modernism.
