Luigi Colani is a German designer and sculptor known for biomorphic forms that reject orthogonal geometry in favor of flowing, organic curves. Working across industrial design, automotive design, and fine art since the 1950s, Colani developed a distinctive visual language based on natural forms and aerodynamic principles. His sculptural objects and conceptual designs emphasize continuity of line and volume, treating manufactured goods as extensions of landscape rather than mechanical assemblies. His work emerged in postwar Europe as a conscious departure from functionalist severity.
