Painting
Ian Breakwell was a British artist working across film, video, photography, and text-based practice from the 1960s onward. His work engaged with conceptual strategies and the everyday, often using documentation and narrative fragmentation to interrogate perception and representation. Active during the postwar period, Breakwell's interdisciplinary approach positioned him within the expanded field of contemporary art practice that emerged in Britain during the late twentieth century.
