Kiyoshi Awazu

Kiyoshi Awazu was a Japanese graphic designer and painter who worked across print, poster design, and fine art from the 1950s onward. His practice emerged in postwar Japan, where he developed a distinctive visual language combining modernist abstraction with references to Japanese tradition and everyday visual culture. Awazu's graphic work ranged from commercial commissions to politically engaged posters, while his paintings explored color and compositional structure with formal rigor.
