Painting
Ree Morton was an American artist working in installation, sculpture, and mixed media during the 1960s and 1970s. Her practice combined industrial materials, found objects, and decorative elements in large-scale environments that challenged the boundaries between fine art and craft. Morton's work engaged with color, pattern, and spatial experience in ways that anticipated later developments in feminist and postminimal art. She died in 1977 at the age of 40.
