Painting
Robert Filliou was a French artist and poet active in postwar experimental art movements who worked across performance, installation, and text-based practice. He founded the Fluxus-affiliated Eternal Network in the 1960s, a decentralized artistic community organized around the circulation of ideas, objects, and correspondence rather than institutional exhibition. His work emphasizes play, chance, and everyday creativity as modes of artistic practice, rejecting the autonomy of the art object in favor of collaborative, ephemeral, and mail-based exchange. Filliou's poetic interventions and performative gestures anticipated participatory and relational art practices that emerged in subsequent decades.
