Artist
Corita Kent was an American printmaker and painter whose silkscreen works combined bold typography, vibrant color, and spiritual inquiry in the postwar period. A Dominican nun, she developed a distinctive visual language that merged commercial printing techniques with contemplative practice, creating large-scale prints that addressed social justice, love, and faith. Her work was exhibited at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and other major institutions. Kent's graphic compositions, often incorporating found text and layered color fields, bridged the gap between fine art and accessible public communication.
