Printmaking
Glen Alps was an American printmaker and painter whose practice centered on lithography and woodcut, media he employed to explore landscape and abstraction in the postwar period. Born in 1914, he developed a distinctive approach to printmaking that bridged figuration and geometric abstraction. Alps was based in the Pacific Northwest and maintained a sustained engagement with both traditional and experimental printmaking techniques throughout his career until his death in 1996.
