Kazuo Nakamura was a Canadian painter born in 1926 who developed an abstract geometric practice rooted in color relationships and spatial harmony. Working primarily in oil and acrylic, his compositions employed grids, bands of color, and carefully calibrated tonal shifts to create works of contemplative restraint. Active from the postwar period onward, Nakamura's approach reflected a sustained engagement with modernist abstraction and the formal possibilities of the canvas surface.
