Joan Miró

Emil Ruder was a Swiss typographer and graphic designer whose systematic approach to letterforms and page composition established foundational principles for postwar Swiss modernism. Working primarily in sans-serif typefaces and grid-based layouts, he developed a spare, functional aesthetic that prioritized legibility and mathematical precision over ornament. His teaching at the Basel School of Design shaped an entire generation of designers who adopted his methodical approach to visual communication.
