Dorothy Dehner was an American sculptor whose abstract and figurative works in bronze, steel, and stone emerged from decades of independent artistic development. Working primarily from the 1950s onward, she created monumental public sculptures and intimate chamber pieces that combined geometric abstraction with organic forms. Her practice ranged from welded steel constructions to carved stone, often informed by her engagement with landscape and archaeological forms.
