Edmund Teske was an American photographer known for his dreamlike black-and-white images that merged surrealist sensibility with precise darkroom technique. Active from the 1930s through the 1990s, he created atmospheric portraits, architectural studies, and experimental photomontages that treated the photographic negative as a malleable surface for intervention and layering.
