Renoir and His Model

Albert André is a French painter associated with Post-Impressionism, working primarily in oil on canvas. A close friend and contemporary of Auguste Renoir, he painted intimate domestic interiors, still lifes, and sun-drenched landscapes in the south of France, employing a warm, saturated palette inflected by Impressionist light. The Musée Albert-André in Bagnols-sur-Cèze houses a permanent collection of his work alongside pieces he helped assemble.
