Wolf's Head

Roberto González Goyri was a Guatemalan sculptor and painter working primarily in stone and bronze from the 1940s onward. His monumental public works, often sited in urban plazas and civic spaces, synthesized modernist abstraction with references to pre-Columbian Mesoamerican form. Active during Guatemala's postwar period, he became a defining figure in Central American sculptural practice, creating works that engaged both international modernism and local historical consciousness.
