Island of Statues

Salvatore Fiume was an Italian painter, sculptor, and draughtsman active from the 1940s onward. Working across figuration, abstraction, and decorative arts, he developed a distinctive formal language that synthesized classical Italian traditions with modernist abstraction. His practice encompassed large-scale murals, easel paintings, and sculptural works in bronze and stone. Fiume's output spanned both public commissions and gallery work, establishing him as a significant figure in postwar Italian art.
