Printmaking

Mario Prassinos was a French painter and printmaker whose postwar practice combined figurative and abstract elements within a distinctly Mediterranean sensibility. Working primarily in oil and etching, he developed a visual language that engaged with classical form while maintaining a modern, gestural approach. Active from the 1940s onward, Prassinos contributed to the renewal of French painting in the immediate postwar period.
