The Bridge at Worms

Corrado Cagli was an Italian painter and sculptor working across abstraction and figuration in the postwar period. Born in Ancona in 1910, he developed a practice rooted in gestural mark-making and spatial experimentation, moving fluidly between canvas and three-dimensional form. His work emerged from the Italian modernist tradition and engaged with the formal innovations of his contemporaries across Europe and America.
