Robert Colquhoun was a British painter and printmaker whose expressionistic figural works emerged from the rubble of postwar Europe. Working primarily in oil and lithography, he developed a distinctive vocabulary of distorted, angular forms and muted earth tones that conveyed psychological unease and bodily fragmentation.
