Astrid Sampe was a Swedish textile designer and colorist whose printed and woven fabrics shaped Scandinavian modernism in the postwar decades. Working primarily with geometric and organic patterns applied to cotton and linen, she developed a distinctive palette of bold, saturated colors that rejected both the austerity of functionalism and decorative excess.
