Albert Sterner was an American painter and printmaker active in the early twentieth century. Working primarily in oils and etching, he developed a refined technique in portraiture and figure studies that reflected the academic traditions of his era. Based in New York, Sterner maintained a sustained practice across painting, printmaking, and illustration throughout a career spanning more than six decades.
