Max Kaus
Max Kaus was a German painter and printmaker whose work straddled Expressionism and figuration in the early-to-mid twentieth century. Active from the 1920s onward, he developed a distinctive approach to the human form through oil painting and graphic media, often rendered with bold gestural marks and a muted, earthy palette. His practice engaged with the social and political upheaval of Weimar Germany and its aftermath.
