Painting
Armand Guillaumin was a French Post-Impressionist painter and printmaker known for his bold use of vivid, non-naturalistic color and dynamic brushwork. Working primarily in oil and pastel during the late 19th century, he developed landscapes and urban scenes marked by intense chromatic contrasts and expressive handling of light. A contemporary of Pissarro and Cézanne, Guillaumin worked as a laborer and railway employee for much of his life before dedicating himself fully to painting after inheriting a modest sum in 1891.
