Herman Kruyder was a Dutch painter and printmaker active in the early twentieth century. Working primarily in oil and etching, he developed a distinctive approach to landscape and figurative subjects marked by expressive brushwork and a muted, atmospheric palette. Based in the Netherlands, Kruyder's practice engaged with modernist movements circulating through Northern Europe during the 1910s and 1920s.
