Friedrich Froebel
Friedrich Froebel was a German educator and theorist whose conceptual system for early childhood learning shaped the foundational philosophy of modern pedagogy. Though not primarily a visual artist, his invention of the Froebel Gifts, a sequence of wooden geometric forms designed to teach spatial relationships, symmetry, and construction, established a model of tactile, form-based learning that influenced both educational practice and artistic thinking in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. His work bridged philosophy, craft instruction, and developmental psychology.
