<p>The firm of Jeffrey & Co. was responsible for manufacturing all of the wallpapers made under the Morris & Co. label. Under director Metford Warner (about 1843–1930), Jeffrey & Co. had a reputation as one of the finest printers in England and also printed designs by Walter Crane and C. F. A. Voysey. The company’s relationship with Morris & Co. continued until they were absorbed into a larger conglomerate in 1927. Very few patterns were originally printed as both wallpaper and textiles, one exception is <em>Marigold</em>.</p>

He was a major contributor to the revival of traditional British textile arts and methods of production. His literary contributions helped to establish the modern fantasy genre, while he campaigned for socialism in fin de siècle Great Britain.
