Paul Huet was a French landscape painter and a founding figure of the Barbizon School, the mid-nineteenth-century movement that shifted painting practice from studio convention toward direct observation of nature. Working primarily in oil on canvas, he depicted forests, wetlands, and rural weather with atmospheric sensitivity and a palette weighted toward greens and grays.
