Interior View of the Temple Which is Believed to Have Been Dedicated to Juno, from Different views of Paestum
<p>Among the last works created by Giovanni Battista Piranesi, who died on November 9,1778, these large prints belong to a series of 20 views of Paestum called <em>Different Views of Some of the Remains of Three Great Edifices That Still Exist at the Center of the Ancient City of Pesto, or Posidonia [Paestum], Which Is Situated in Lucania</em> The figures that animate the entire series and the final plate shown here were probably completed by his son, Francesco.</p>
