Vitale Bramani was an Italian designer and industrialist who revolutionized footwear through advances in rubber sole manufacturing. Founder of the Bramani company, he developed the Vibram sole, a high-performance rubber compound that became standard for mountaineering and outdoor boots. His technical innovations in material science and manufacturing established Italy as a center for advanced rubber engineering and sportswear design in the postwar period.
