Peter Maverick was an American printmaker active in the early nineteenth century, specializing in engraving and aquatint. Working primarily in New York, he produced commercial and fine art prints that documented American urban life, architecture, and landscape during the Federal period. His technical mastery of copper plate engraving established him as a significant figure in the development of American printmaking as both craft and fine art medium.
