
An allegory relating to the fortunes of the Turks, a winged figure probably representing Time stands on a fallen Turk while sharpening a blade on a wheel inscribed with the continents that is being turned by a semi-dressed figure, at right the city of Vardino (northwest Romania near the Hungarian border) that was held by the Turks from 1660 to 1692.
