George Baldessin was an Australian sculptor and printmaker working in cast metal and relief printing during the 1960s and 1970s. His practice moved fluidly between abstraction and figuration, pursuing both formal and representational concerns simultaneously across sculptural and graphic media. Active in the postwar period, Baldessin contributed to Australian modernism during a formative decade for the nation's artistic development.
