Why this artist matters now

Daniel Orme was a British printmaker active in late eighteenth and early nineteenth century London, known for his engravings and aquatints that documented urban life, topography, and historical subjects. Working primarily in line engraving and colored aquatint, he produced both independent prints and illustrations for books and periodicals. His prints circulated widely among London's middling and merchant classes, establishing him as a prolific commercial practitioner of the medium during the Romantic period.
