About

Why this artist matters now

Paul Nadar was a French photographer and son of the renowned portraitist Gaspard-Félix Tournachon, known as Nadar. Active in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, he continued his father's practice of studio portraiture while expanding into landscape and documentary photography. His work maintained the technical precision and psychological acuity characteristic of the Nadar studio's reputation.
