Carsten Höller creates large-scale interactive installations that examine human perception, sensory experience, and altered consciousness through participatory environments. His immersive works often incorporate slides, rotating rooms, and chemical or biological elements that invite direct physical engagement rather than passive viewing. Based between Stockholm and Biriwa, Ghana, Höller's practice merges art with phenomenological inquiry, treating the viewer's bodily response as central to meaning. Represented by Gagosian, his installations have been presented at major international venues including MoMA and the Guggenheim.
