Anna Ticho was an Israeli painter and draftsman known for her delicate pencil drawings and watercolors of the Jerusalem landscape, particularly the hills and architectural forms surrounding the city. Born in Vienna in 1894, she immigrated to Palestine in 1924 and spent five decades documenting the topography and light of the region with meticulous precision. Her work, executed primarily in graphite and watercolor on paper, combines observational naturalism with a lyrical sensitivity to atmospheric conditions. Ticho's archive and residence in Jerusalem are preserved as a cultural institution.
