Why this artist matters now
Bruno Mathsson was a Swedish furniture designer and architect whose molded plywood and laminated wood forms defined Scandinavian modernism in the postwar era. Working primarily in the 1940s and onward, he created organic, flowing furniture pieces that prioritized comfort and craft over geometric severity.
