Anne Collier works with appropriated photographic images, isolating found pictures to suspend their conventional meanings and drain them of narrative weight. Her practice treats photography as raw material for conceptual inquiry, interrogating how images circulate and acquire meaning through context and display. Based in Los Angeles, Collier's photographs and mixed-media compositions investigate the relationship between original sources and their recontextualization within artistic practice.
